Playaway Stair Procedure

Children should be assembled in key family groups and backup key families and numbers established. One member to take the register, keys, telephone and outside checklist. Proceed through the first gate in a supervised line to the second gate, which must be shut.

Children then proceed down the stairs supported by staff as appropriate.

All children to be assembled in the hallway.

Proceed through front door where they assemble by side of house and numbers re-established.

One member of staff situated at the front and back of the children.

Proceed through to garden.

Children stay assembled until garden is checked.

Repeat with other group (Ria or Claudette to cover where needed)

Inside

Number should be established and groups divided according to age.

Groups to be lined up, one member of staff in front & one behind.

Walk children around and into building, lined up, with a member of staff on stairs.

Children to be called up the stairs.

Numbers Checked.

Register is taken when children are inside.
